What is the Gospel? Why does it matter?

Creation: God created everything. God made us in His image, to reflect His love, goodness, and glory (Genesis 1:1, 26-27)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(Genesis 1:1)

So God created man in his own image, he created him in the image of God, he created them male and female. (Genesis 1:27)

What keeps us from enjoying life the way God created it?

Sin: Despite God's perfect design, humanity rebelled against Him and chose to disobey God. Any time we try to do life on our own this is known as sin. Sin separates us from God and prevents us from having a relationship with him. Sin brought brokenness, pain, and separation from God into the world.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 14:12

How can we overcome sin and separation from God?

Salvation: Despite our sinfulness, God loves us. God provide's the only way we can be forgiven. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save us from our sins. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again on the third day.

For God so loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

But God proves his own love for us in that while we sere still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans5:8

God has provided the only way of salvation. How will you respond?

Response: The Gospel message calls us to respond by faith. We must admit that we are sinners, acknowledge our need for salvation, and place our faith in Jesus Christ. We turn away from our sin and surrender our life to Jesus.

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is God's gift. Ephesians 2:8

If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

How you can surrender your life to Jesus Christ:

  • See your need. (I am a sinner)

  • Be willing to turn from your sins.(Repent)

  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose from the Grave.

  • Surrender your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

We suggest praying the following prayer to surrender your life to Jesus:

" Lord Jesus, That's me! I know I'm a sinner, and I need your forgiveness. I believe you are the sinless Son of God. I believe that You died for my sins and that you rose again on the third day. I am asking you to forgive me of all my sins, save me, and help me to live for You from this day forward. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me! Amen."

Did you pray this Prayer?

  Yes, I prayed the Prayer
No, but I have a question.
